Canadian Experience Class
Canadian Experience Class Immigration
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) lets those with Canadian work experience apply for permanent residence.
To qualify for the CEC, a candidate must:
- Have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada with the proper authorization in the three years before they apply
- Have valid third-party language test results that show they meet the required language skill level
Some International students who have studied in Canada and who have worked in Canada for one year after completing their studies may obtain Permanent Residence if they meet the occupational and language requirements and if they are selected through the Express Entry System.
What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is a system used to manage applications for:
- the Federal Skilled Worker Program
- the Federal Skilled Trades Program
- the Canadian Experience Class
- a portion of the Provincial Nominee Program
Foreign workers who are interested in these programs first have to:
- complete an online Express Entry profile and
- meet the criteria to get into the pool of candidates.
